Emily Pettit is a 2005 graduate from the University
of Evansville, with a Bachelor of Science degree specializing in
Music Management. As a music management major, Emily studied
percussion, piano, and flute. During her studies she held offices
in the several organizations including the women’s music fraternity,
Sigma Alpha Iota, CMENC (Collegiate Music Educators National
Conference), and UEMMA (University of Evansville Music Management
Association). As a Music Management major she was awarded a
scholarship from NAMBI (NAMM Affiliated Music Business Institutions)
which allowed her to attend the winter NAMM Show in Anaheim,
California. She also worked at the local music store, H & H Music.
After moving from the Evansville area, she began working at Paige’s
Music as an Instrumental Advisor.
Emily believes
that Book Readers and Horn Blowers, Inc. can help local music
programs, such as band and choir, grow by educating students about
the significance of music in their lives. She wants to expand
the outreach of BRHB, Inc. to more counties and elementary schools.
